People have praised an elderly man who walked the length of the Mall dressed as a Royal Guard, in tribute to the Queen, following the sad news of her death.
The unnamed mourner, who was caught on camera as he approached Buckingham Palace, was seen carrying a bouquet of flowers. He wore a Royal Guard's costume, which had evidently been made with great love and care.
His detailed outfit, which appeared to be made from paper and tape, was adorned with several medals. The member of the public also wore headwear in the style of the Guard's iconic bearskin hats.

In video footage, the man can be seen saluting those he passes, as he makes his way to Buckingham Palace to pay his respects to the late Queen.
Captured by @busk1976 and later shared to TikTok, the clip has delighted thousands in the days since it was posted.
To date, it has been watched by more than 1.5 million people, amassing 108,000 likes.
The voiceover accompanying the clip says: "Elderly loyal supporter of the Queen walked the length of the mall to lay flowers at Buckingham Palace."
In response, viewers were quick to commend the gentleman for his effort.
