A man has died after a car crashed into a home where he was sleeping near Maitland in NSW.
Police say a four-wheel-drive was travelling on High Street in Largs on Sunday afternoon when it left the road and hit a house on the intersection of Morpeth Street.
The home was damaged and a 74-year-old man who was asleep in a front bedroom was taken to hospital where he later died.
The 69-year-old male driver is believed to have had a heart attack and is in a critical condition.
The Toyota LandCruiser he was driving has been seized for forensic examination and police have asked for any witnesses or people with relevant dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
Fire and Rescue NSW said a woman who was also inside the house at the time of the crash escaped injury.
