Elderly man dies after mobility scooter road crash

An elderly man has died after his mobility scooter collided with a ute on a suburban road.

Paramedics and police were called to the crash on Canley Vale Rd at Wakeley, in Sydney's west, about 5.50pm on Wednesday.

A 90-year-old man was being helped by members of the public when they arrived.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment, but died on Thursday morning.

A 50-year-old man who was driving a Toyota Hilux has been questioned by police.

He was also taken to the hospital for mandatory testing.

No charges have been laid and police are looking for witnesses and dashcam footage as they investigate the road death.
