A community in the west of Ireland is in mourning after the death of a couple who passed away within mere days of each other.
Mayo couple William Loughrey and his beloved wife Violet Loughrey Culleen died within just two days of each other this week prompting an outpouring of tributes.
William, 99, died peacefully on October 25 at his house in Kilsallagh, Westport, Co Mayo.

Just two days later his 96-year-old wife Violet died on October 27 at the Mayo Hospice in Castlebar, as Galway Beo report.
A post on RIP.ie read: "William & Violet will repose at Lecanvey Community Centre, Murrisk, Westport, on Tuesday evening from 4pm until 5.30pm."
Funeral details are as follows: "Funeral cortege will leave McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina on Wednesday morning at 11.30am to Shannon Crematorium arriving for Committal service at 3pm.
"Family flowers only please donations, if desired, to Louisburgh Order of Malta C/o McGowan’s Funeral Services, Ballina."
Meanwhile condolences poured from across the community as locals paid tribute to the couple.
One person said: "I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Bill and Violet. They were such lovely people, and it was a pleasure to have known them. May they rest in peace."
Another said: "Rest in peace u lovely couple, Together in death as they were in life."
