An elderly man was in a serious but stable condition on Tuesday night after his car rolled onto his body earlier that afternoon, causing him several serious injuries.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene on Alison Road at Wyong just after midday. They say the man had been doing maintenance on his vehicle when a jack gave way.
In a brief statement, Tuggerah Lakes Police said they found the man under his vehicle but did not indicate how long he had been trapped there.
Paramedics assessed the 76-year-old man for abdominal and chest injuries after he was freed before he was quickly flown to John Hunter Hospital via Westpac Rescue Helicopter under care from the helicopter's medical team.
A spokesperson for the Hospital confirmed the man's condition just before 5pm.
Police say their inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
