Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree has a ton of different weapons that fall under various categories. One of the more powerful items is the massive Ruins Greatsword.
The Ruins Greatsword is a menacing Strength-based weapon that can deal devastating damage to your foes. On top of dealing high physical damage, it also has the Wave of Destruction skill that sends out a powerful gravitational force.
If you want to get the Ruins Greatsword and lay siege to your enemies in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, this guide is just the thing for you.
How To Get the Ruins Greatsword
While this particular weapon is amazing at dealing damage, it also is not that difficult to get in the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. The main thing you need to do is defeat the Crucible Knight and Misbegotten Warrior side bosses, according to Game Rant.
These foes can be located in Redmane Castle Plaza and are on a small island in the southeast corner of Caelid.
The main issue is that facing these two side bosses is particularly straightforward. There are some conditions you need to meet to find the boss rooms.
Triggering the Side Boss Fights
To actually get to fight the two side bosses, you have to make sure that the Radahn Festival is not active.
You then have to go to Redmane Castle and start the fight. But if the Festival has already started, you first have to beat Starscourge Radahn and then come back to Redmane Castle, VG247 said.
The first side boss you will face is the Misbegotten Warrior, who fights similarly to Castle Morne's Leonine Misbegotten. The Crucible Knight will join the battle after the first side boss is reduced to about half of its maximum health.
The Ruins Greatsword
You get this powerful weapon after you defeat the two side bosses and requires 50 strength and 16 intelligence to properly wield. The Ruins Greatsword scales with both stats and its scaling changes to S-rank when it reaches level 10.
The Ash of War that you can use with this weapon is Wave of Destruction, which is a charged attack. It sends out a long wave directly in front of you.
This is particularly useful for clearing out large groups of weak enemies as well as if you need to deal damage at a distance to keep yourself safe, according to Screen Rant.
