Elden Ring patch 1.07.1 fixes bugs, but not the Black Blade incantation

Elden Ring is launching yet another patch to make the game a bit fairer to play.

The last Elden Ring patch we saw introduced sweeping changes to skills, Ashes of War, and PvP play to make Elden Ring more competitive amongst its most dedicated communities.

This patch however is a bit more low-key, as indicated by the small .1 on the end of the patch number 1.07.1. It’s rolling out to all platforms, and will be essential for playing the game online in the future.

The first big change affects the Ash of War, Endure. The effect duration has been shortened here, as patch 1.07 might’ve made it stronger than the team expected.

The next big change hits the incantation, Inescapable Frenzy. This one was supposed to have lower FP consumption from patch 1.07, but it never got it. Now, it is finally in effect.

Next, there are also a couple of quick changes to the previous patch notes. Flame of the Fell God and Gurranq’s Beast Claw were noted to be charged, but they’ve never had that ability.

Finally, the incantation, Black Blade, is currently missing a follow up attack when cast from the left hand. We can’t be sure why, but FromSoftware is assuring players that this will be fixed in a future update. The biggest takeaway here is that this is certainly not the end of FromSoftware’s ongoing balance changes and support for Elden Ring.

Make sure to read the full patch notes on Bandai Namco’s site, even if all the information is basically listed above. Dedicated Elden Ring competitive players will be happy to know that FromSoftware has them in mind, but fans that just want more story content will be waiting for future DLC.
