Elaine C. Smith has hinted that popular Scots sitcom Two Doors Down could be returning for a seventh series.
The well-kent actress, who plays loose-tongued neighbour Christine, has sent fans wild after posting a picture on her Instagram story of the cast, which included the words ‘Two Doors Down Will Return’.
In November last year, the BBC comedy, which is filmed in Dumbarton, returned to our screen for a sixth instalment and saw Siobhan Redmond brought in as Anne-Marie, Colin’s new love interest after Doon Mackichan, who played Cathy, quit.
A Christmas Special episode then aired in December, leaving many viewers in tears after they were given an insight into Christine’s life.
A source told the Record: “Nothing is set in stone but there have been discussions about a Series 7 of Two Doors Down."
Many fans of the programme have shared the post, with one saying: “OMG!!! It looks like Two Doors Down is returning for series 7.”
Another added: “Oooh is this Elaine hinting we could be getting another series of TDD?”
A third commented: “Hope this is true and Two Doors Down is returning. Surely it must be and she wouldn’t just post something random like this?”
While a fourth added: “Hope it is returning..... absolutely love Two Doors Down and Elaine C Smith.”
We have approached the BBC for a comment.
