Eir announces price hikes in massive blow to customers

Eir has announced massive hikes to its services across Ireland.

Landline, TV, broadband, and mobile bills are expected to rise by €5 a month which means customers will pay an added €60 for their bills per year.

This price hike comes as a blow to many families struggling to make ends meet due to a jump in the cost of living expenses.

A host of new charges will be introduced starting next year which will put an added burden on customers.

Eir users will be charged €4.87 a month plus a VAT rate of 23% if they want a physical copy of their bill posted to them.

Those who opt for paying their bill over the phone will also face the same charge to use online services and start a direct debit.

Additionally, the telecommunications company will increase prices automatically by the official inflation rate plus 3% starting April next year.

Also, late payments or missed payments will see an additional charge of €15.
