Eintracht Frankfurt vs Tottenham predictions for UEFA Champions League clash

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to put Saturday's North London Derby defeat behind them when they travel to Germany to play Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Antonio Conte's side suffered a 3-1 loss to their arch rivals Arsenal at the weekend, with Emerson Royal playing the villain-type role on the day after a needless second-half sending off. The Brazilian is eligible to play against Frankfurt, though, as his suspension only applies to domestic fixtures as opposed to European ones.

By comparison, Spurs' opponents on Tuesday are fresh off a win. Frankfurt became the first-team to beat early Bundesliga leaders Union Berlin at the weekend as they secured a 2-0 home win.

Oliver Glasner's side will be seeking a fourth consecutive victory with the visit of Tottenham, a streak that began with a magnificent Champions League victory over Marseille in Southern France. Spurs will have to be at their very best to deal with last season's UEFA Europa League winners, but according to the latest FiveThirtyEight predictions, they should have enough to get the job done.

The forecast and Soccer Power Index (SPI) metric concludes that Spurs have a 43% chance of winning on Tuesday, whilst Frankfurt only have a 32% chance of getting all three points. There's also the possibility of a draw, which they have suggested is 25% likely.

Of course, anything can happen on the day, but Tottenham are clear favourites to come away with a result. Spurs currently sit second in Group D on goal difference, but victory for Frankfurt will see them climb above Conte's team.
