Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has confirmed he has rejected an offer from Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag made the former Paris Saint-German keeper a summer target to provide competition for David de Gea. Sir Alex Ferguson was reportedly behind the push to sign the player.
Eintracht were reportedly open to cashing in on the 32-year-old and were looking for a fee in excess of £20million.
Trapp was asked about a possible move away from Frankfurt earlier in the week, telling reporters: “It’s always nice when rumours like this come out. It’s a nice acknowledgement. But I can’t say anything about it.”
But Trapp is no longer in two minds and has confirmed he rejected an approach from United to stay put at the Europa League winners.
He said on Thursday morning: I received a written proposal from Manchester United - world top club. Yesterday, I informed those responsible at both clubs that I had decided stay at Eintracht Frankfurt."
