EINTRACHT FRANKFURT, Rangers' Europa League final opponents, have been dealt a blow ahead of the showpiece occasion in Seville later this month.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side overturned a 1-0 deficit from their first leg against RB Leipzig with a famous 3-1 victory at Ibrox on Thursday night to book their place in the final, while Frankfurt saw off David Moyes' West Ham United in the semis.
The final will go ahead at Sevilla's Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on Wednesday 18 May but the Bundesliga outfit will be without the services of centre-back Martin Hinteregger.
The Austrian defender has been a key member of Frankfurt's squad this season, making 36 appearances in all competitions.
Hinteregger picked up a thigh injury during his team's 1-0 win over West Ham on Thursday night and had to be brought off, and the 29-year-old will play no further part this season.
A statement from Frankfurt said: "Martin Hinteregger will miss the rest of the season after suffering a thigh injury during yesterday's game [against West Ham].
