An "arrogant" man who taunted police by writing "catch me if you can" on his own wanted appeal has been jailed for eight years. Jordan Carr, 20, was wanted on recall to prison and in connection with an alleged aggravated burglary.
Carr commented "catch me if you can" on an appeal shared by Bedfordshire Police on Facebook in February 2021. His comment was liked more than 5,500 times.
But in June 2021, Carr was caught by police and arrested. On Thursday he was jailed for eight years at Guildford Crown Court after being found guilty of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.
Carr, of Enfield, also pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon. Detective Sergeant David Gordon, of Bedfordshire Police, said: “Carr is clearly an extremely violent individual who has a certain arrogance about him and thinks he is above the law.
“I welcome the result in court today and hope that he now uses this time to reflect on his dangerous behaviour and actions. He challenged us to catch him if we could. We did, and he is now going to prison for a very long time.”
