Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway is back on ITV1 and so is their popular segment the 'happiest minute of the week' where they hand out holidays to amazing people in the studio audience and special viewers at home. During the first episode of the new series, which aired on Saturday, February 25, the pair gave away a free holiday to Florida to a young girl from Wales to commend her for being "an absolute superstar" after recently losing her leg in a freak gardening accident.
Alys Davies, from Ammanford in Carmarthenshire, is eight years old and has been dancing since she was just three. Last year, she was chosen to represent Wales in a dance exhibition over in Los Angeles in the US - but a few months later, her life changed forever when she became seriously injured in a freak gardening accident. Alys' leg became trapped in a lawnmower and she sadly had to have it amputated.
But amazingly, just two weeks after the amputation, Alys was back dancing - and now Ant and Dec have gifted her a trip to Universal Orlando Resort in Florida.

During the first episode of the new series of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway - which has been criticised by some viewers for airing a bizarre 'pregnancy prank' - Dec spoke to the audience and viewers at home and said cameras would soon be showing some of the people who will be given tickets to Florida.
"Next up we are coming to Carmarthenshire, get ready if you are in Carmarthenshire because we are coming to surprise YOU, Alys Davies!" he said, as studio cameras switched to live footage from Alys' home in Carmarthenshire.
"Hi Alys, Alys, it is you, you are on Takeaway, it is you! Alys, we know that you fell in love with dancing when you were only three years old. Sadly, after an accident last year, you lost your leg, well that didn't stop you! Just two weeks after the operation you were back at dance class and you even learned how to do a backflip. We think you are an absolute superstar, we also think you deserve a place on the plane!"
Later in the year, Alys will be one of 200 viewers and fans who will enjoy a holiday to Universal Orlando Resort in Florida, with Ant and Dec set to broadcast the final episode of the current series of Saturday Night Takeaway live from the resort.
