Finding your first home in Ireland is fast becoming an out of reach task for many first-time buyers.
It was revealed this week that in some areas, the cost of homes is increasing by €100 a day as Dublin remains the most expensive county to purchase a property in.
It would be extremely rare to find any home or apartment in Dublin below €60,000 but if you’re willing to head outside of the city, there are some properties within this budget.

Most are in need of a lot of cosmetic work but have amazing potential to be converted into the perfect family home.
Here are some of the options available as of March 29, 2022.
Kilkenny
The first property is a three-bed and two-bath on the market for €22,500 in null, Galmoy, Co. Kilkenny.
According to the sellers, this is a “prime opportunity to acquire this single storey, thatched residence with extensions 1282 sq ft., which comes to the market in excellent condition throughout.”

It is in need of complete renovation but boasts huge potential and would be ideal for an owner-occupier or investor who is looking for a project.
The property is nestled between Ballinrobe, which is just a 15-minute drive away, and Claremorris, just a 10-minute drive away.
Galway

Leitrim
