Eight Dead, 45 Injured In Florida Bus Crash

Bus accident leaves passengers injured and dead, on the outskirts of Tegucigalpa

Tragedy struck in north-central Florida as a bus carrying farm workers was involved in a fatal crash, resulting in eight deaths and 45 injuries. The incident occurred on a state highway when the 2010 International Bus, carrying approximately 53 farm workers, collided with a 2001 Ford Ranger at around 6:35 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Following the collision, the bus veered off the road, crashed through a fence, and overturned, leading to the devastating outcome. Emergency responders from Marion County Fire Rescue swiftly arrived at the scene to assist the victims.

James Lucas from Marion County Fire Rescue reported that eight individuals lost their lives at the crash site, while the remaining 45 injured individuals were promptly transported to medical facilities for treatment. Among the injured, eight individuals were listed in critical condition, highlighting the severity of the situation.

The Florida Highway Patrol has initiated an investigation into the crash to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic event. Additionally, the National Transportation Safety Board is closely monitoring the situation to gather crucial information for further analysis.
