A date for Eid ul Adha in the UK has been declared with the festival set to take place next week.
Eid ul-Adha, which means the 'Festival of Sacrifice' is one of the most important celebrations in the Muslim calendar.
The story of Eid ul-Adha recounts when Ibrahim had a dream where Allah ordered him to sacrifice his son Isma'il. The devil attempted to dissuade Ibrahim, suggesting he should spare his son.

However, when Ibrahim was about to kill Isma'il, Allah stopped him and gave him a lamb to sacrifice instead. Muslim communities mark Eid ul-Adha with the ritual sacrifice of livestock along with prayers and giving gifts.
