Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stressed on Monday that the state will not abandon the families of the martyrs and will not forget their sacrifices for the country.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony of police cadets at the Police Academy in New Cairo, he added that the situation had significantly improved in Egypt thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs, despite challenges and terrorism.

Egypt is now in a better place, he declared.

He hailed the martyrs for their sacrifices in protecting over 100 million Egyptians and their future and security.

Sisi congratulated the new cadets, urging them “to exert their utmost effort in performing their duty in safeguarding the security and stability of Egypt.”

Moreover, he said Egypt has made strides in containing threats and terrorism, crediting the achievement to the army, police and all state sectors.

Sisi also called on officials to safeguard Egypt’s security, stability and progress.

Addressing the graduates, he said they are entrusted with achieving Egypt’s security and stability.

He added that the authorities were working on developing state sectors.

“We don’t say that we will carry out reforms, but that we are implementing them and we will forge ahead in the development process,” he remarked.

The process is ongoing and will not stop given the constant changes in the world, Sisi explained.
