Egypt denounced on Wednesday an Israeli raid of the Palestinian city of Nablus, which left 11 Palestinians dead.
“Egypt expresses its deep concern about the ongoing and dangerous escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories recently, which increases the complexity and aggravation of the situation every day,” an Egyptian Foreign Ministry statement said.
The recent escalation undermines efforts to achieve calm, and jeopardizes the chances of reviving the peace process on the basis of international legitimacy decisions and the principle of the two-state solution, the ministry warned.
