Derby County are priced as the favourites to win the EFL League One next season but based on last season's exploits there is still plenty of work to be done to achieve that feat. After last year's spectacle and finish, some teams will be hoping the achievement from Plymouth Argyle last season will inspire them to push on and reach the Championship come May.
The Pilgrims were originally priced at 25/1 at the start of last season and if lightning were to struck twice then we could be looking at the likes of Wycombe Wanderers to surprise the third-tier of English football. Bookies Betway have priced Liam Rosenior's side to return to the Championship at 4/1 with Bolton Wanderers behind them at 7/1.
Other possible contenders include relegated sides Reading at 10/1 and Blackpool at 12/1 as possible contenders for winning the title while Wigan Athletic, who have recently been acquired by billionaire Mike Danson, are a distant 50/1 to bounce back with the title.
Elsewhere, play-off semi-finalists Peterborough are priced at 3/1 to return to the Championship on their second attempt after relegation in the 2021/22 season. The Posh missed out on a place in the final after a dramatic comeback from Sheffield Wednesday who went on to achieve promotion last season.
