Eerie footage has revealed the inside of Midlothian's lost leisure centre that shows an abandoned family pool.
The old film of Bonnyrigg Leisure Centre was posted on YouTube in 2013 while the centre was awaiting demolition.

Incredible footage explores all the different parts of the old swimming pools which have since been emptied. Sunlight flows through the unique windows illuminating the abandoned area.
In the next shot, the old flumes are visible while the person filming pans across the window showing the football pitches outside and commenting on the "great view of the sunset".
Consultations led by Bonnyrigg and Lasswade Community Council explained that the centre was boarded up while awaiting demolition unless the community can create a plan to reuse it.
The building was viable but could not be sold to a commercial interest because of unusual community-orientated title restrictions.
Following this, residents consultations were held to try and find a use for the pool but sadly none were successful and the pool was demolished on June 16, 2015.

The nearest facility in the area since the leisure centre shut down is Lasswade Centre - a local high school which has a pool and other amenities for residents to use.
Locals will remember many happy days out in the pool which was unique because it had flumes and a number of pools. Many birthday parties and Saturday afternoons were spent splashing about with friends before it was closed down.
