Eels sweat on Moses scans after big win

Parramatta are sweating on scan results amid fears star halfback Mitchell Moses could miss the final weeks of the NRL's regular season with a broken finger.

Moses suffered the injury in Friday night's 34-10 win over Penrith, the Eels' second win over the defending premiers this season.

The Eels' No.7 played out the game but is facing the potential of surgery, which could sideline him for at least four weeks.

Moses' absence would be a huge blow for the Eels after he turned in a stellar display against the Panthers including kicking two crucial 40/20s.

Friday's win lifted the Eels to sixth on the ladder but Brad Arthur's team face a tricky run home including matches against Manly, South Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The Eels are awaiting a medical report before deciding what the course of action will be to treat Moses' injury.

The bad news for the Eels comes as Penrith ponder playing the rest of the regular seson without their chief playmaker Nathan Cleary, who is facing a five-game suspension for a spear tackle on Parramatta's Dylan Brown.

He was handed a grade-three dangerous throw charge by the NRL's match review committee on Saturday.
