Millions of EE customers will pay more for their monthly phone bill from March 2023, as UK network providers hike bills to fit in with rising inflation rates and economic pressures.
All broadband, landline and mobile users will see a rise in their bill from March, 31, as the cost of living continues to have an impact on network and energy costs. The bills are rising based on December's Consumer Price Index, which was set at 11%, meaning users could see a total rise of 14.4% in bills.
EE, Three, Sky and more are also set to hike their prices from March, 2023. Three mobile users are affected with an increase of £4.80 a month, or an extra £57.60 a year, while Sky customers, who are out of contract, will pay £1 more each month for certain data-only plans.

The criteria of which customers will face rising prices varies depending on the provider, as we've seen above, Sky is only increasing for customers 'out-of contract' where as Three customers are facing a mid-contract price hikes.
Which is why checking with your provider individually is essential as it changes from person to person. To help breakdown the new pricing information for EE customers we've highlighted a few of the key changes, including who is exempt and where to go if you need help paying your more expensive bill.
How will this effect my monthly EE bill?
EE customers who are still in contract from March 31 2023, will see their monthly bill rise but the company has not yet released the exact increase figure. Looking at some popular EE tarrifs, we've calculated how much more EE customers could pay.
For example, if you currently have a pay-monthly broadband contract costing £22 per month for 24 months, this could go up to £25.10 for the rest of the contract length. Customers with an unlimited SIM-only data plan currently pay £14 for the first six months and £28 for remaining 18 months but could now pay £16.06 for first six months and £32 for the remainder.
It's 135GB SIM-only plan could rise from its current price of £23 a month, to £26.31, for customers who are still in contract, even for only one month after the price change.
The price changes come into effect from the end of March, but bill payers will only notice the changes on their April 2023 bill, if you pay your bill on the 20th of each month then you'll pay the extra percentage from April 20, 2023. The above calculations are worked out as the maximum possible rise, which is at 14.4%.
Even customers with a 'fixed price' contract will pay the added increase, as EE is one provider that has mid-contract price rises written into its customer terms and conditions.
Where can I go if I'm struggling to pay my EE bill?
Any customer can leave or change their EE plan if they're out of contract, which means customers can leave without an exit charge. Unless you know the exact date your contract ends, it's not always made clear by providers, and customers out of contract are often rolled on.
If you think you may struggle to pay the rising charges the first thing we would suggest is to check your contract status, as you may be able to find a cheaper alternative elsewhere. EE have support in place for customers facing issues paying their bill, the first thing we suggest is to look at their help page, which can be found here.
It's help staff can go into personal details with you directly and look at different options available to pay your bill as it says on its site: "If you’re struggling to pay your bill, it’s important you let us know as soon as possible so we can support you and come up with a solution to potentially make your payments more manageable."
