Edwina Currie lashed out at Ranvir Singh during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday.
The 75-year-old former MP appeared on the ITV breakfast show via video link to share her views on whether or not Prime Minister Boris Johnson should resign.
It comes after after police issued Boris, his wife Carrie, and the Chancellor Rishi Sunak with Partygate fines after they broke lockdown laws back in 2020.
The Prime Minister - the first found by police to have broken the law - faced demands to recall Parliament for a vote of no confidence weeks before the May 5 local elections.
Asked by GMB host Ranvir Singh if Boris should resign, Edwina said bluntly: "I don't care, I really don't care. What matters to me and what matters for millions of people in this country are the results we get from our politicians. The results we get from Boris are pretty good.
"I want to hold him to account for all sorts of things, we'll get to a general election in 2024," she continued.
Ranvir and her co-host Richard Madeley were clearly taken aback by Edwina's blunt response.
Towards the end of the chat, Ranvir said: "You know, you say you don't mind if he's lied it doesn't matter to you..." but Edwina quickly butted in and declared: "I didn't say that!"
"You've said you don't care..." Ranvir fired back as Edwina continued to speak over her and shouted: "No no, don't put words in my mouth... Ranvir, shush I did not say that!
"I said there are more important things to get on with, I said that you can't change the past, you can't rewind the tape. He's a human being and so are the people around him."
Ranvir then asked her: "How do you expect members of the public to follow any new laws that are ever brought in if we don't care that the Prime Minister was able to break the law?
"I understand the question and my answer is because the public understand what the rules were for," Edwina shrieked back.
"The public obeyed the rules by and large and were very sensible and almost certainly they saved lives. What I'm saying is: It's done, it's dusted."
