Eduvie Ikoba on Celtic transfer radar with 'constant exchanges' held over American striker switch

Celtic are keeping tabs on striker Eduvie Ikoba this summer, according to a report.

Ange Postecoglou is closing in a Treble-winning campaing with the Scottish Premiership trophy and Viaplay Cup already claimed by the relentless Hoops - with Inverness Caley Thistle and the Scottish Cup Final standing in the Australian's way of a clean sweep of silverware in Scotland. With an all-conquering campaign just around the corner, there is little chance that Postecoglou will stand still and will look to build on last season's Champions League campaign as they return to the group stage.

With Kyogo Furuhashi and Hyeongyu Oh the options for the leading the line in Europe next term, the boss could look to add to his frontline with Zalaegerszegi attacker Ikoba touted with a move to Celtic Park. The American has netted 13 goals so far this campaign for the Hungarian outfit as they fight against the drop and helped them lift the Hungarian Cup.

That form has reportedly attracting interested from across Europe. German outlet Fussball Europa report that there has been "constant exchanges" between the club and Celtic over the availability of the frontman with the minnows open to cashing in on their prize asset this summer.

Stuttgart are "in talks" with Zalaegerszegi over the prospect of a deal, but a deal could be scuppered should the relegation-threatened side drop to Bundesliga 2. There is also interest from Toulouse, with Major League Soccer and Serie A sides also monitoring the situation.
