The transfer window has been open for just four days and the Arsenal fanbase, at least part of it, is already beginning to lose patience. However, I do understand some of the frustration.
Personally, I'm relatively calm about what's going on and the potential business we may see, after all, there's still a long way to go. But if there is one thing that grinds my gears from time to time, it's how long we can take to get the ball rolling when it comes to wrapping up deals.
We can only go along with what we hear on the outside, so I appreciate we don't know every single detail about what's happening behind the scenes, which is important to factor in when speaking on matters like this. What is clear though is that Arsenal have both Gabriel Jesus and Youri Tielemans at the top of the shopping list, as various reports have confirmed.

Rather frustratingly, despite football.london understanding that talks with the representatives of both players have been ongoing for a while now, the recent international break appears to have halted any major progress in both cases. Every single week, new stories which claim Arsenal are 'leading the race' or 'confident' over signing the player appear and speaking from a fan perspective, it can get quite tiresome.
I'm no expert when it comes to transfer negotiations, but surely the club can still be tabling bids and positioning itself to get things done once their target returns from international duty? Maybe, just maybe, the latter is indeed the case and that brings me to my next point.
Jesus' time with Brazil has already come to an end after playing their last game just over a week ago. There still hasn't been any concrete update which is perhaps a sign that things aren't at an advanced stage yet, but with other clubs also showing interest, you get the sense that Edu must speed things up.
With Tielemans, the current lack of competition for his signature is possibly one of the reasons why there hasn't been much progress as of yet, but that should be an extra initiative to get it done while we have the chance. The midfielder plays his last Nations League match with Belgium tonight, so again, fingers crossed that we begin to see increased movement over the coming days.
However, the point remains that the sooner Arsenal can get things wrapped up, the better. Players are set to return for pre-season on the 27th and it would be a big boost to already have some new faces through the door and settling in, it can be hugely beneficial. With Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham all strengthening early doors, it sets the standard for what must follow.
For Mikel Arteta, Edu and the rest of the recruitment team, now it must really start to be about putting words into action. It's great that we are leading races and remaining confident about signings, but as the international break draws to a close, few excuses remain.
