Arsenal technical director Edu has revealed that almost all of Mikel Arteta's top transfer targets have joined the club this summer.
The north London outfit have spent in excess of £110 million to bring in former Manchester City stars Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus, as well as American goalkeeper Matt Turner, Brazilian winger Marquinhos and Portuguese playmaker Fabio Vieira. Now, Edu has spoken about convincing players to join the Gunners over teams playing in the UEFA Champions League, claiming that almost 100% of Arteta's targets have arrived at the Emirates Stadium this summer.
"Yes, almost 100 per cent of them", the Brazilian told Sky Sports when quizzed if he had been successful in bringing in the young coach's top targets this summer. "I understand sometimes players want to play Champions League football, but I think we can offer something very special for the players as well.

"It's not only Champions League, but you can be part of a group of players which can achieve something very special for this football club. And then I always ask them if they want to be part of the project we've been building as we're doing.
"I'm sure we will do something very special for this football club, and then when I explain to the players, they really understand [it], and that's why they're here." A number of Arsenal's fringe players look likely to leave the club before the deadline on September 1, with the likes of Lucas Torreira, Hector Bellerin and Ainsley Maitland-Niles all heavily linked with moves away from north London.
Arteta confirmed earlier this month that the club were keen to trim their squad before next month's Premier League opener against Crystal Palace. When asked if there was more business to be done during the remainder of the window, the Spaniard replied: "I don't know, it's what we have today, and as well we have a large squad, so we have to make some decisions on the players that we're not going to be using consistently and be fair and straight with them, and that's a process that's going to start very soon, as well."
