Arsenal came into the summer transfer window knowing that the forward department must be addressed. Gabriel Jesus is the clubs’ main target but it seems that Edu could also be targeting another forward.
The direction for another forward could be towards a forgotten transfer target. This comes after Real Sociedad announced the signing of striker Mohamed Ali-Cho from Angers, meaning there could be space for Alexander Isak to leave the club.
The Gunners were heavily linked to Isak in the January transfer window but a deal never managed to materialise. Alongside Jesus, the Sweden international could be another arrival for Arsenal as it seems Real Sociedad could have already signed his replacement.

The Times have reported that the Gunners have made an improved offer to Man City for Jesus and in spite of this new offer not meeting the £50m valuation, it is expected that the eight-time Premier League goalscorer for 2021/22 will move to the Emirates.
Despite this, Arsenal could still attempt to bring in another striker as Arteta will still be short of options with just Eddie Nketiah and Jesus to choose from if the Brazilian joins the club. Folarin Balogun is another option but it is likely that the youngster will leave on loan to a Premier League club with Fulham reportedly interested
Isak could certainly be the next striker to come in after Jesus due to his previous links to the club. It seems that he would be open to a move after admitting to watching Arsenal during his youth days.
Speaking to Swedish YouTube channel Min Stora Dag, Isak said: “I have a lot of football players who I have looked up to and have taken a lot from. But if I have to name one I would say Thierry Henry who I have really liked all the time and where I see many qualities that I have tried to follow.”
There will also be an extra incentive for him to join the club and link up with former teammate Martin Odegaard, with who he created an excellent connection when the Norwegian was on loan at Real Sociedad.
Isak would certainly compliment Jesus well if both strikers were to join the club, with Jesus also a useful option on the wing. Cho’s move to Real Sociedad could have potentially set up a transfer opportunity for Arsenal.
