Edu eyes transfer for 'next Erling Haaland and Sadio Mane' in potential Arsenal summer bargain

Arsenal are preparing for the summer transfer window, where plenty of big name signings are set to be made across the world of football. The Gunners appear to be prioritising a move for a midfielder as football.london understand the club has an interest in Declan Rice, Moises Caicdeo and Martin Zubimendi for the role.

That's not to say there won't be plans made for signings elsewhere, with plenty of potential bargains around in the next few months. Edu revealed to football.london this month that he is already laying the groundwork for the upcoming window as the sporting director of the club.

"It’s already started because you know what’s happening in the market everybody is doing stuff," the Brazilian said of Arsenal's preparation for the summer. "You have to plan with people as well just to be prepared, so when you go again in the summer you are very prepared."

Amongst all the links in the window, the latest name to arise on the radar of the Gunners is RB Salzburg forward Noah Okafor. According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are among a number of Premier League clubs eyeing a deal for the Switzerland international this summer, along with London rivals Tottenham and West Ham.

The 22-year-old has continued to impress and with just over one year remaining on his contract, a potential bargain could be on the cards to stop the Austrian side losing the striker on a free transfer. Okafor could join a long list of successful players leaving Salzburg in recent years.

The likes of Erling Haaland and Sadio Mane all plied their trade for the club, coming through the ranks at a young age, with Okafor potentially the next superstar out of the club. It remains to be seen if Arsenal will be able to land the Swiss star, but it could be the transfer opportunity of the summer.
