Welcome to Edtech Show & Tell, a new feature from Tech & Learning in which our editors share some of the edtech products that have caught our attention this month. These are not reviews or endorsements, but a showcase of products that we think might be noteworthy to our audience.
The edtech you can expect to see highlighted here each month will cover a wide range of edtech products. For example, this time we have new streaming hardware, whiteboards, classroom audio devices, and AI (of course!).
Edtech Show & Tell: February 2024
Atlona Velocity Keypad Controller
An innovative AV control platform that supports easy system scalability and low cost of ownership. Velocity also provides the ability to configure control systems in minutes, and make system modifications without the need for extensive programming.
Avantis ClassVR
At FETC 2024, Avantis showcased its new library of VR math content including immersive VR scenes for students ages 5-11 covering numbers, measurements, geometry, fractions, decimals, statistics, and more. Avantis also introduced new language arts VR scenes designed to help students connect ideas with theory through imagery and engaging characters such as “punctuation dragons."
LG CreateBoard
LG Business Solutions USA has announced its Google Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement (EDLA) certification for the new CreateBoard (TR3DK-BM). The interactive display will now come with Android 13 pre-installed and access to the Google Play store when it begins shipping this spring.
Magewell Director Mini
An all-in-one portable production and streaming system combining switching, graphics, streaming, recording and monitoring. Input capabilities include live HDMI, USB, SRT, RTMP, NDI HX2, NDI HX3, and mobile sources plus file-based media assets. Updates since Director Mini's launch at IBC in September add new capabilities including H.265 (HEVC) encoding; UVC/UAC output; ISO recording; and more.
OpenAI GPT App Store
OpenAI just launched its GPT store, giving paid subscribers access to a wide range of customized AI tools utilizing the latest GPT technology, such as a code tutor from Khan Academy and a presentation design tool from Canva. Teachers can also customize their own GPT and make it available on the store.
Philips Professional Displays 4K Philips Collaboration Displays
Available in 65”, 75”, and 86” sizes across both model variants, the new Philips Collaboration Series for Education marks a significant step beyond the original Philips E-Line Series. It features an all-new tailored design, as well as the latest advances in educational software, intended to support the highest levels of engagement and inclusivity inside any learning environment.
ScreenBeam Orchestrate
Orchestrate by ScreenBeam is an instructional tool for classroom and student management that allows teachers to share and collaborate with their students in a 1:1 classroom. Paired with ScreenBeam 1000 series wireless display receivers, Orchestrate by ScreenBeam enables wireless presentation, touchscreen support, student monitoring, and moderation.
Scribbles Software ScribOnline
Scribbles Software has updated its ScribOnline document management system, allowing school and district staff to more easily conduct mass scanning and uploading of documents, search for data using customizable index values, and update scanned documents using insertion, deletion, and notation tools.
SMART SMART Board RX Series
The RX series features SMART’s Tool Explorer technology, which allows students to physically demonstrate learning using stamps and cubes programmed with images such as emojis. This empowers learners of all abilities to participate and express themselves, boosting social and emotional skill development and making it well-suited to an inclusive classroom.
