Edinburgh Zoo hosting wedding fair to show what the ‘wild’ days are like

An event at Edinburgh Zoo is set to show how ‘wild’ being wed amongst the animals could be.

On March 11, the zoo will open up their Mansion House which will be dressed for a wedding. Couples can browse the wedding area, and find out more about the different package options.

Suppliers will also be in the marquee to talk over wedding plans. Depending on what you're looking for, a few creatures could make a guest appearance on the special day.

Edinburgh Zoo describe their wedding venue on their site, saying: “Probably the wildest place in Edinburgh to get married.

“Add in the elegance of our historic Mansion House, impeccable service, and delicious catering, we will ensure, as newlyweds, you will have a truly memorable experience. With over 200 years of history and steeped in tradition, our Mansion House is striking centrepiece of Edinburgh Zoo.

“Our light and airy Keith room and traditional Library room are perfect settings for the start of your wedding day preparations. Whilst the stunning Macmillan room provides a breathtaking backdrop for your ceremony, looking out over the zoo’s stunning gardens, the city of Edinburgh and across the Pentland hills.

“It had a beautiful colour palette of wedgewood blues and a fabulous period fireplace to add a touch more grandeur to your day.”

After the ceremony, guests are welcome to enjoy what the zoo has to offer. Some packages offered include incorporating an ‘animal encounter’ into your wedding day.
