Edinburgh youths captured stealing woolly hats from passers-by in bizarre stunt

A pair of Edinburgh youths have been captured cycling past pedestrians in the city centre and stealing their hats before riding off in a bizarre stunt.

The video surfaced on TikTok after one user managed to record footage of the two youths cycling past the Omni Centre at night and getting close to people walking by before grabbing their woolly hat of their head.

The first youth fails to steal a woman's hat before cycling off as she looks bemused by what had just happened, although the second rider manages to make off with a man's beanie and disappears into the distance.

Posting the video on the popular social media platform, the user, @seaofchangefilm, captioned it: "Watch your woolly hats in Edinburgh. The hat snatchers are about."

They added: "Witnessed a couple of people riding bikes in close succession reach out to try & pinch peoples hats on the cycle lane in Leith Street, close to OMNi centre in Edinburgh.

The shocking stunt was captured by a concerned eye witness. (@seaofchangefilm)

"Not sure if the second person was successful. Who ever is doing this please stop."

One of the riders is dressed in black, wearing a tracksuit with their hood up as the second rider is sporting a bright orange jacket and is wearing a black beanie of his own.
