A manhunt was underway after a serious assault on a female in a residential property in the west of Edinburgh.
Residents of Broomhouse Crescent said that officers were going door-to-door in the area to try to establish the facts of what had happened.
In response to the incident, police confirmed that an investigation has been launched due to a 38-year-old woman being seriously assaulted on the street.

The incident took place on the residential street at around 10.15pm on Thursday February 9 and it is understood that police remain in the area conducting inquiries with locals.
One resident said that there was a heavy police presence in the community with several vehicles in attendance overnight. It is not yet known the severity of the injuries that the victim suffered.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “An investigation is underway following a report of a 38-year old woman who was seriously assaulted in Broomhouse Crescent, Edinburgh.
“Police were notified around 10.15pm on Thursday, 9 February, 2023 and enquiries are ongoing.”
