Edinburgh and the Lothians are set to enjoy a pretty pleasant weekend, with temperatures around 9C and sunshine throughout, according to the Met Office.
Forecasters predict some showers during Friday before sunshine breaking through the clouds. However, showers are set to arrive as the weekend draws to a close. Here is everything you need to know about the weather to help you plan ahead in the coming days.

Friday, January 6
Showers across the Lothians will die out, with drier and more pleasant conditions throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
Sunshine and west to southwesterly winds, with gusts easing as the day progresses before periods of rain overnight. Showers are expected to be light at first but become heavier at times before winds strengthening in the late evening.
Highs of 9C and lows of 4C.
Saturday, January 7
A cloudy start to the weekend, with rainfall across the capital at times in the early hours.
But things are set to clear up during the morning, with clouds breaking to give some sunlight. Throughout the afternoon a few showers are expected, but overall a pleasant day.
Maximum temperatures of 9C, with minimums of 6C.
Sunday, January 8
More sunshine for Edinburgh and the Lothians throughout Sunday and into Monday morning.
However, blustery showers will fall throughout the final hours of the weekend with weather turning wintry over higher ground.
