Temperatures have plummeted in recent days, with things feeling particularly chilly across Edinburgh. And the wintry weather is set to continue, with snow forecast in the coming days.
The Met Office forecast states that a 'few wintry showers' will fall on Wednesday, with things remaining cold as temperature battle to get above freezing. The capital will see lows of just -3°C in the coming days, with frost and icy patches expected.
Maximum temperatures of just 1°C are expected on Tuesday, with things getting ever so slightly warmer throughout the remainder of the week as temperatures reach a maximum of 4 °C.

According to WXCharts weather map, snow is set to fall in the early hours of Wednesday, January 18. Snow will fall around 6am on Wednesday morning, with up to 2cm per hour falling just south of the city and up to 1cm per hour in the capital.
It will become clearer as Wednesday progresses, with the band of wintry weather moving eastwards. Edinburgh will then be left with clear skies and bright conditions for the remainder of the day.
Weather is set to remain unsettled as we reach the end of the week, with changeable conditions likely. Thursday and Friday will be cold but bright across the capital.
Saturday and Sunday will feel a little milder, with highs of 9°C. and lows of around 4 °C in the early hours and overnight during the weekend.
