Edinburgh is set to be hit with wintry weather in the coming weeks, as seven inches of snow is set to lie on the ground of the UK within the next month.
Forecasters have warned that a "Stratospheric Polar Vortex" is coming, and it could trigger a weather pattern that is similar to the recent "Beast from the East", the Daily Star reports
Heavy snow struck last week in the UK, with the Met Office issuing several weather warning throughout the country.

And now, a WXCHARTS weather map forecasts snow the coming weeks for Edinburgh.
As we reach February, the capital is set for some snowstorms, with at least an inch of snow is predicted to fall in the capital from February 2. Up to four inches is expected in areas further north of Edinburgh.
The Met Office's long-range forecast for Edinburgh reads: "Rain and wintry showers are expected to be focused in the north and northwest, with southeastern areas predominantly dry.
"Strong winds with gales are possible in the far north. Temperatures generally will be near normal overall, with overnight frosts possible under the clearer spells."
Brian Gaze, from The Weather Outlook, has warned that the period surrounding Valentine's Day usually brings out the UK's coldest and heaviest snow.
He said: "Computer models are suggesting that a weakening of the Stratospheric Polar Vortex (SPV) in the coming weeks could lead to an increasing chance of cold weather during February.
"It's a long way off in weather terms but the period around Valentine's Day has in the past often brought the UK some of its coldest and most wintry spells of weather.
"A weakening SPV leads to an increasing chance of a very cold Arctic Blast or a Beast From The East weather pattern, like the one we saw in February 2018."
The WXCHARTS forecast is change, with unsettled and changeable weather continuing throughout the country.
