More snow is on the way for Edinburgh as the cold snap continues to pull temperatures down.
Edinburgh locals have been waking up to snow and ice over the last few days as temperatures have plummeted to below freezing. For Tuesday, weather forecasters have warned that it will drop to as low as -7C and will struggle to reach over a chilling -3C.
For the rest of week, temperatures will rise slightly and by Friday snow is expected to fall on the city.

BBC Weather forecasts snow showers to hit Edinburgh by 9am on Friday, December 16 as we reach 2C and the lowest is 0C - so we'll finally be out of the minus range. With this, snow and sleet is expected to fall through the morning and then in the evening.

Saturday will remain cloudy and cold and locals will wake up to snow showers on Sunday as temperatures sit between 2C and 4C. The snow will turn into sleet through the day as temperatures rise slightly.
BBC Weather adds: "Thursday will be bright but cold in southern and eastern areas. It will be cloudy in north and northwestern areas with wintry showers. On Friday, there will be steadier wintry precipitation in the north with snow in the hills. Southern areas will start cold and bright but clouds will soon move in from the north. Saturday will be variably cloudy but it will become mostly dry."
