Edinburgh venue lands spot on list of 100 best rooftop bars in the world

One of Edinburgh's fanciest drinks venues has just been crowned as one of the very best rooftop bars in the world.

According to new research by Mandoemedia.com, Forth Floor at Harvey Nichols is 84th best rooftop bar on the planet, fending off competition from the Americas, Asia and Europe to land the top 100 spot.

Analysis ranked bars across different criteria including customer experience, price and social media shares, with the Mandomedia team narrowing it down to the 200 top-rated places across the globe to enjoy a drink with a view.

In first place was Bangkok’s AkaAza Bar, owing to its pool bar and stunning panoramic views of the Thai capital, while Spanish duo The Rooftop at Serras in Barcelona and Terraz at the Principal in Madrid made up the top three.

The study found Edinburgh's St Andrew Square bar recorded 1,160 Instagram shares, received a customer experience rating of 44.7% and a bottle of wine - determined by the lowest price for a standard-sized bottle - was £25.94.

That put it in 84th position, nestled between Melbourne's Captain Baxter and the Whiskey Warehouse in Charlotte.

We recently reported on the plus Edinburgh bar after it announced popular Cocktail Mafia have teamed up with Harvey Nichols for an exclusive collab event which will also include a pop-up concession with brands such as PINKO, Fenty Beauty and many more.

Meanwhile, the only other Scottish bar to make the top 100 was in Glasgow, with the Radisson Red Sky Bar being ranked in 46th place.
