Scottish film star Ewan McGregor stuns locals after he was spotted popping into popular Edinburgh restaurant this week.
The iconic Star Wars actor was spotted nipping into Down the Hatch in South Queensferry for a coffee. He even had the time to stop and take some pictures with some of the staff.
The star was spotted going into the restaurant on July 9 and Down the Hatch announced the celebrity appearance by posting pictures of him to their social media. The post on their Facebook has been met with excitement from Lothian locals, with the post getting more than two thousand likes.

McGregor was pictured wearing a pair of jeans, a cardigan and sporting a pair of sunglasses. He took the photos with members of staff outside the restaurant, under the Forth road bridge.
The cinema icon reportedly just ordered an Americano when he popped in, with the other people he was with ordering some more drinks.
One local said: “Wow, that's amazing. Hope he is enjoying the sunshine and amazing food.
And another said: “Aw man, wish I'd been there, did he say ‘hello there’?”
Found in Port Edgar Marina in South Queensferry, Down the Hatch has become an iconic part of the area.
We spoke to Mathew from Down the Hatch who served McGregor. He said: “ It was really just a quick interaction, there isn’t much to tell.
“It really just was like ‘are you Ewan McGregor? Yeah? Cool.
“People got photos with him and he seemed really nice about it.”
Down The Hatch describe themselves as an authentic Canadian Diner that focuses on Diner style food with locally sourced ingredients. They opened back in 2015 and proved so popular with locals that they were even able to open another location in Edinburgh in 2020.
