Pandemonium has ensued for rail travellers coming to and from Edinburgh after lines closed at Haymarket due to faults with signalling.
ScotRail have announced that there will be severe delays after Network Rail notified them of the issue that has led to line closures at the city centre station.
Up to 30 services have been cancelled across the central belt, with most services connecting Edinburgh with other cities and towns.

Edinburgh to Glasgow, Dundee, Dunblane, Bathgate and Tweedbank services appear to have been halted as a result of the signal failures.
ScotRail have said that staff have been sent to Haymarket to try to rectify the situation but the problem is expected to have caused pandemonium for festive travellers.
One couple who had been caught up in the chaos and were trying to get back to Aberdeen said: “It’s the last thing you want when heading home after Christmas. It just takes the edge off the festivities when all you want to do is get home and enjoy your last few days off.
“I’ve had to resort to watching Hearts’ run in the Champions League to cheer myself up.”
ScotRail have said that passengers will be able to use their tickets and Smartcards on Edinburgh Trams between St Andrew’s Square, Haymarket, Edinburgh Park and Edinburgh Gateway in either direction - they just have to show their valid ticket or Smartcard to on-tram staff.
The rail operator has also set up ticket acceptance with Lothian Buses and Stagecoach East Buses - with passengers just needing to show their valid ticket or Smartcard to the driver when they board the bus.
They also say that they have requested two replacement buses for Edinburgh Park which will have an ETA of 4:30pm and at Bathgate they have requested two replacement buses with an HH coach for 4:00pm.
ScotRail announced on their Twitter that: “We’ve been advised by @NetworkRailSCOT of a signalling issue at Haymarket closing some lines. Staff are on their way and we’ll keep you updated.”
