British Transport Police have launched an appeal after a man was caught masturbating on a train between Edinburgh and Newcastle.
On March 10, a woman was travelling on the 2.28pm service from London Kings Cross to the capital when during the journey, after Newcastle, a man came on and sat opposite her.
A few hours later, between 5.50pm and 7.30pm, the woman saw the man masturbating. Officers say he then left the train at Edinburgh.

An investigation into the incident is now underway and the man is being described as 17-18 years old, white, 6ft, proportionate build, sandy coloured hair shaved at the side and longer on the top.
He was wearing a multi-coloured patterned, 90s style bomber jacket with black across the shoulders, a bright purple t-shirt and loose-fitting blue jeans.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed what happened or has any information to come forward and assist the investigation.
