Edinburgh student eliminated from MasterChef with everyone saying the same thing

After a woman who studied in Edinburgh was booted off MasterChef UK in the first few episodes, viewers have taken to social media to express their opinions.

Zoe, 26, was eliminated on episode two of the popular cooking show - which came as a surprise after she performed so well in the first. Fans of the TV show took to the tech manager, though her run wasn't quite as long as expected.

Describing her cooking as a Scottish/Italian fusion, it seemed like she would excel after impressing with a festive lobster risotto and dumplings. Though it wasn't meant to be, and John and Gregg sent her packing.

Viewers felt she was gone too soon, and let their opinions be known. One Twitter user wrote: "Zoe was robbed. Vanessa should've gone."

Margaret Gray was in agreement: "How can two contestants who used ready made pastry and only had to make two lots of custard go through? Zoe was robbed. Favouritsm."

Another agreed: "Zoe's gone?! That's mad, wrong decision." A fourth added: "So annoyed. Going to miss you Zoe."

Despite her early exit, Zoe looks set to continue cooking. She told BBC: "I’d love to have my own seafood restaurant one day. But, for the time being I want to keep experimenting, and cooking food that makes me and my friends and family happy.”

The next episode of MasterChef UK airs on April 14 at 8.30pm.
