Edinburgh Starstruck singer urged to continue career after wowing ITV judges

Edinburgh Starstruck contestant Frankie Maddin performed on brand new Saturday night show on ITV, as she transformed into worldwide star Billie Eilish.

The 25-year-old captured audiences hearts as the American singer, as she sang hit single When The Partys Over' by the colourful teenager.

The Edinburgh singer catapulted her way to the final, beating Team Billie contestants Amy and Claudia as they performed 007 movie single 'No Time To Die'.

Frankie was in shock as she was announced as the finalist from the group, and showed herself that she had 'the balls' to get to the top.

The ex-beautician was hyping up the final all over her social media, writing this week that: "Who’s ready for the final this Saturday??? @billieeilish Blue or green hair? It will feel so lonely on that stage without my girls @amyharrietx @claudiathompsonmusic. Sat 2nd April @itv 8.30pm !!"

And Frankie certainly did not disappoint as she belted out the heartfelt song to judges Jason Manford, Sheridan Smith, Beverley Knight and Adam Lambert, plus the buzzing audience.

Judges were blown away by Frankie's performance, but nobody was prouder than her dad, Lee. When Olly asked his opinion, he simply said: "Something special just happened there. Wow."

The whole panel was adamant that despite tonight's result, Frankie needed to pursue a future career in music.

Sadly Frankie ended up as runner up to Rachel as she belted her way as Cher to the £50,000 grand prize.

Frankie said: "I just have to thank all of you so much for this opportunity, it's been amazing. Thank you!

"I just want to make my dad proud all over again."

Frankie was on hand to congratulate Rachel, alongside the other Starstruck contestants.

Unfortunately, that is all from this season of ITV's Starstruck, but the bosses at the show have put out a call for new contestants.

Edinburgh Live reported earlier that judge Jason Manford posted on his Instagram that the ITV show was casting for the next season already.

So, do you have what it takes to be another Frankie for Edinburgh, and do Scotland proud?
