Edinburgh Starstruck contestant 'buzzing' for finalist appearance on ITV show

Edinburgh Starstruck contestant Frankie is buzzing for her appearance in the final of the ITV show on Saturday night, as the whole of Scotland gets behind the singer to win the competition.

Frankie, 26, beat fellow Team Billie pals Amy and Claudia to the final of Starstruck, where she now has the opportunity to win a whopping £50,000!

The Team Eilish group sang the Grammy-award winning song by Billie Eilish, 'No Time To Die', which had been written for the new 007 movie of the same title.

And now Frankie has the belief that her chance of winning the final is high - as she has the whole of Edinburgh, and Scotland behind her.

The Edinburgh singer has been posting on her Instagram all week, getting all 9K followers excited for her final performance on the ITV show.

Writing on Instagram, Frankie said: "Who’s ready for the final this Saturday??? @billieeilish Blue or green hair? It will feel so lonely on that stage without my girls @amyharrietx @claudiathompsonmusic. Sat 2nd April @itv 8.30pm !!"

Frankie will be singing a single from the American teenagers expansive discography, called 'Everything I Wanted', a beautiful ballad about struggling with mental health and finding solace in your support system.

In an interview with Edinburgh Live earlier this year, Frankie spoke about having her dad in the audience for the show meaning everything to her - showing the true meaning behind singing this song in the final.

Frankie had said: "Having my dad there and winning meant more than the opportunity of winning 50k.

"Like a lot of families my mum and dad split up when I was younger and we moved to Scotland whilst he stayed in England. He never got to see me sing.

"But you always believed in me. You bought me my first microphone when I said I want d to start doing covers online.

"You drove me to countless auditions which I would get knocked back from and cry in your car on the way home. But you believed in me dad, So I won this for you. Making you proud is all I ever want to do. I love you!"

The singer will battle it out against other contestants transforming into Freddie Mercury, Barbra Streisand and Cher - so she certainly has her work cut out for her.

But we are sure the Edinburgh star will smash it, and everyone watching at home in the capital and beyond in Scotland will be rooting for the singer to reach the moon with her talents.

You can tune into the final of Starstruck and support Frankie on Saturday, April 2 at 8:30pm on ITV.
