A group of snipers have been spotted on the roof of the Scottish Parliament building in Edinburgh, as they prepare for the Queen's coffin.
The marksmen were seen standing setting up their equipment on the roof at Holyrood on Monday morning, with a huge police presence surrounding the city centre.
Guarding over the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the snipers are one of many security personnel watching over the ceremonial events in Edinburgh, ahead of the Queen leaving the royal residence.

Expected to be taken from the throne room at around 2.30pm, the coffin of Her Majesty will travel in a procession up the Royal Mile to St Giles' Cathedral.
Large crowds have already begun to gather along the route, with many more set to arrive in the coming hours to catch a glimpse of the coffin.
Members of the Royal Family including King Charles will also be in attendance at St Giles' in the afternoon for a commemorative service, before the Queen will lie in rest at the cathedral for 24 hours.

Snipers were also spotted on top of the RBS building on Princes Street on Sunday, when a similar procession occurred through the city centre to take the Queen to Holyrood.
Arriving from Balmoral shortly after 4pm, locals had lined the streets to pay tribute to the monarch, before she was met by Princess Anne and other royals.
