Edinburgh's Prestonfield House to host Sir Cliff Richard and Christopher Biggins this summer

Prestonfield House has been announced as one of the venues for this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival and to celebrate, they've announced a series of in-conversation events with a number of British icons.

Running from August 18 until the 27th, The Stables at Prestonfield House will host events with the likes of Sir Cliff Richard, Christopher Biggins and Stephanie Beacham.

The Fringe Society has unveiled 1596 new shows and over 100 new venues following a surge in interest amongst fans of the Fringe Festival – making this year’s Festival the eighth biggest on record, set to welcome an audience from across the world.

Sir Cliff Richard, who performed at the Usher Hall in 1962 and appeared most recently in an Edinburgh Castle concert, will lead the line-up of new in-conversation events.

Moreover, a comedy-play about a group of fans of the chart-topping singer has already been confirmed in the line-up.

Stephanie Beacham, star of Dynasty and Coronation Street, and Scottish stand-up star Janey Godley, will also be appearing in Prestonfield House’s Fringe Events.

The luxury 5-star hotel is housed in one of Edinburgh’s finest historic buildings and lies just five minutes from Edinburgh's city centre. First opened in the 50s, it offers the privacy and seclusion of a country estate right in the heart of the city.

The hotel is located close to the iconic Arthur’s Seat and offers 18 luxurious bedrooms and five romantic suites as well as a destination restaurant – Rhubarb – and a collection of stunning private dining rooms, opulent salons and impressive public rooms.

Tickets are available from the Prestonfield House website.
