Edinburgh's most 'unsellable home' is four-bed bungalow on the market since 2019

The property market in Edinburgh is known for its quick sales and surging prices and barely a day goes by when it isn't topping some sort of table. But one home in the Scottish capital has been sitting on the market for almost four years, leaving many puzzled.

The property in question is a four-bed bungalow in the suburb of Craigentinny. According to Rightmove, the property, on Nantwich Drive, was put up in May 2019, meaning it is coming up for four years on the market without being sold - making it Edinburgh's most 'un-sellable home', reports Edinburgh Live.

The property may need a fair bit of work doing to it, but it has plenty of admirable features. Although the decor is a little dated, the home boasts four spacious bedrooms and a large rear garden, as well as being in a popular part of the city.

The asking price for the property at the moment is sitting just below £400,000, with homes in the areas selling in recent months for a similar price. It is not too far from the city centre and just minutes from areas such as Meadowbank, which is benefitting from an increase in population and attraction.

Describing the property, Rightmove say: "The property is brought to the market in good condition and briefly, consists of an entrance hall with storage, an extensive rear facing lounge with electric fire and dining area featuring sliding doors to a large garden.

"The modern fully fitted kitchen has further space for dining and entertaining with a good range of appliances including a six gas burner hob, and two ovens, ideal for any aspiring chefs. There is additional access to the garden and a double bedroom with two windows and ample space for free standing furnishings.

"The two spacious double bedrooms located at the front of the property are bright with natural daylight and provide further space for free standing furniture, the fourth bedroom overlooks the side of the property and allows for flexible furnishing arrangements."

The home also benefits from lots of storage, including an attic and a shed to the rear of the property. Private parking is also available, with a nicely-bricked driveway. And all fixtures, appliances and white goods are included in the sale.

Despite the work needing done and the current inflated property market, the home's many positive aspects still appear to make it an attractive proposition. But with the bungalow approaching four years listed for sale, you have to wonder just why no potential buyers have shown a firm interest.
