Edinburgh's Leith Walk will partially close again as tram works continue

Commuters and drivers have been warned that a section of Leith Walk will be closed once again.

This comes as the street opened in February to both directions of traffic after being closed for three years. Leith Walk has undergone a vast amount of work as tram lines and cycle paths have been put in place.

From Thursday March 30 for around three days, Leith Walk will be closed to traffic southbound between Foot of the Walk and Pilrig Street.

This comes as the Newhaven extension is due to open in the next few months. The effects of the tram works in Leith have been highlighted by many with disruption to pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

Now it looks like the opening date is growing ever closer after ghost trams slowly creeped down the Walk as the lines were tested.
