Edinburgh’s historic Ratho Hall could see a derelict chicken sheds demolished and luxury new housing built in its place.
The City of Edinburgh Council received the application from the developers on Friday January 28 to create the new residential complex.
The developers Graham and Rachel Bucknall want to demolish old chicken sheds at the property and create the new housing.

The Bucknalls own similar ventures across Scotland and have a growing portfolio.
The new homes will be situated on the grounds of the Category A listed Ratho Hall, within the Conservation Area of Ratho Village with plans drawn up by Haar Architects.
The redundant commercial chicken sheds will be bulldozed and the planning application shows that three luxury farmhouse styled homes will be erected.
Directly to the northeast of the site is the existing access onto Baird Road.
Ratho Village is within a ten-minute walk (0.5 miles) from the site which offers a range of services and facilities including cafes, restaurants, library, community centre, primary school and a number of recreational amenities.
Edinburgh City Centre is within a 30-minute drive (10.2 miles) or via public transport providing access to a wider array of retail, restaurants, bars and leisure uses.
Ratho Hall was built in the early 19th century, and along with its walled gardens and stables the building was A-listed in 1971.
The City of Edinburgh Council will make a decision in the coming weeks and months.
