According to TripAdvisor, there are at least 145 Indian eateries across Edinburgh - and locals are raving about the top rated restaurant, described by diners as a "little gem".

Scoring an incredible 184 'excellent' ratings out of 196 reviews, Prana Indian Grill Edinburgh is seemingly the talk of the town.

Based on St John's Road in Corstorphine, near Edinburgh Zoo, the Prana team describe their restaurant by saying: "Here at Prana Edinburgh, not only is it our aim to take your breath away with our authentic cuisine but to create a whole new experience for you to share with family and friends."

And, based on customer feedback, it's fair to say they've achieved their goal.

Prana's has a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, featuring an array of classic curries, street grill dishes and a dedicated menu section titled 'Indian reimagined' - and what they've been serving up has been described as 'fantabulous deliciousness'.

One visitor said: "Great service, attentive staff who were not intrusive, timely food delivery from ordering to placing on table. But best of all deliciousness for everyone of us from starters to main courses.

"Fantabulous stars all around, chef, kitchen, waiting and cleaning staff I am so impressed thank you one and all."

Another diner simply hailed their meal as 'superb' and commented: "the standard of the food is amazing with a mix of ingredients and flavours I have never experienced in an Indian restaurant, Indian food with a fantastic twist and knowledgeable staff who really know the food and can recommend.

"This chef and his team are so full of energy and so obviously passionate about the food."

Meanwhile, one customer praised Prana for offering something a little different to the usual Indian restaurant fare, adding: "Fine cuisine not hidebound by normal constraints surrounding Indian restaurants eg no poppadoms! Unusual compilations and ingredients not obsessed with spice levels."

And one person echoed the comments of many, simply describing the much-loved food spot as a 'little gem'. They said: "We visited this restaurant as a first time, it was a brilliant choice. The restaurant is nicely decorated and immaculately clean. The staff were friendly but not in your face.

"The menu had dishes which we hadn't seen on offer anywhere else and we both had a starter and a main course. All food was cooked fresh to order and was very tasty and hot. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here and we highly recommend, we would be very happy to eat here again."

If you've yet to visit Prana, now might be the time.
